I adore photography's ability to refigure the world 'out there' and personalize it. There is no white, there is no black, there are no perfect geometrical shapes in nature. And yet, point a camera toward something and suddenly all the non-existent properties can begin to appear. By containing something you are removing it from its natural boundaries and subjecting it to your own rules. That's pretty darn empowering.
